In 2020 the Governance Forum will provide an expanded programme of briefings and events combined with the provision of in-house training and advice to individual member organisations.
The event schedule includes updates on key governance themes and topics, briefings on responsibilities of Board members and on finance for Board members, and the Chairpersons' Network and Board Secretaries' Network (in association with the ICSA), which commenced in 2019.
The purpose of the Governance Forum at the Institute of Public Administration is to provide advice, training, information and a range of supports on good governance, with a particular emphasis on state, public interest and public benefit organisations. The member organisations of the Forum include state bodies, government departments, local authorities, education institutions and not for profit organisations.
The benefits of Forum Membership include a series of events open to all Forum Members and advice and services to individual members. The current 2020 programme of events and a description of the Forum is available here.
Core Forum Services to Members
- Briefings and conferences on governance topics.
Members are entitled to complimentary invitations to all events including two invitations to each of the briefings, courses and conferences.
- Roundtable discussions.
Peer group discussions on topical issues and to share good practice with peers (e.g. Audit and Risk Committee Chairs).
- In-house presentations and advice on governance.
This includes a specialist day on issues such as Board responsibilities, risk management and assurance arrangements and/or discounts on larger projects.
- Access to advice and network
Members have access to the expert Governance team and a network of contacts comprising sectoral and specialist personnel and organisations
Forum Membership Subscription
