Governance Forum programme 2017 launched
We are planning further development of the Governance Forum in 2017, with an increased number of events and an expanded training programme. The role of the Board in providing and being accountable for leadership of organisations is a core theme of the programme.
The 2017 programme of events starts with an outline schedule of 15 events. The Forum team would be delighted to receive feedback from member organisations on areas of most value to them. There is scope to add further events to the programme.
The range of services for members will include:
- Briefings, training events and conferences on governance topics. Member organisations receive two free places at all briefings, training and conference events and discounts where there are additional nominees
- A day of governance specialist time - often used as an customised in-house workshop on the roles and responsibilities of a Board or Committee
- Roundtable discussions to discuss issues and to share good practice with peers
- Access to the Governance team at the IPA.
The training events will include full day training courses on Board members’ roles and responsibilities and a half day course on finance for non-financial board members and managers with practical case examples from the state and public sector.
