Effective Communications and Stakeholder Relations

Yesterday morning, 20th June 2019, the Governance Forum convened for a morning session on Effective Communications and Stakeholder Relations, with a wide range of organisations represented in the room. Attendees benefited from rich contributions from Siobhan Barron, Director of the National Disability Authority, who gave an insight into the NDA's work in reaching out to stakeholders and seeking to influence change, including some of the positive outputs of the organisation's work; from Sean O'Neill, Director of Corporate Communications at Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), who focused on purpose and perception (from a communications perspective) and gave some tangible examples to illustrate this; and finally, Greg Canty, Managing Partner at Fuzion Communications, who communicated the benefits of social media and the different ways in which it can reflect well on an organisation and its people - with much reference again to perception.
