The Governance Forum is devoting a full event to the area of Artificial Intelligence in the form of a special briefing. This is to support members in better understanding what is an increasingly important area of strategic interest for Boards and Senior Teams, in respect of business system and digital transformation. AI presents potentially significant opportunities for public bodies but also risks and threats. As such, the governance of AI is a particularly important consideration for all senior leaders.
The event will be delivered by Aoife D’Arcy, IPA Senior Associate and CEO of Krisolis and will focus on the following:
- What is Artificial Intelligence
- Its application and potential application in organisational and service delivery contexts, incl case studies
- The EU Artificial Intelligence Act and the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy
- Key governance issues relating to AI (incl. ethics, controls, verification etc)
- Questions and Considerations for Boards and Senior Teams
The session will be of benefit to Board and Committee members, senior executives, and staff of all Forum member organisations, and is designed to strengthen ‘AI Literacy’.
