Board Reporting, Focus and Effectiveness | ONLINE
21 March 2024
11:00–12:30
On-line
Well performing boards can set the right tone for an organisation, influencing strategic direction and priorities, helping to shape behaviours and culture, and helping to ensure that organisations and their resources are appropriately managed and controlled. But a well performing board is something which requires time, attention, good processes and behaviours.
The purpose of this Forum event is to give consideration to what makes for a well performing board or governing body, and it will be based upon data and insights from board reviews carried out across many organisations in the public sector and non-profits. It will seek to draw out trends, patterns and characteristics of well performing boards vs those which might be struggling.
It will consider questions such as:
- What are the key features of effective boards?
- What does review data and insights tell us about common strengths and areas for improvement?
- How do Boards give time and attention to strategy and performance in a meaningful way?
- How are modern boards dealing with skills, experience and diversity needs?
- What new areas and expectations are emerging for Boards and how do they best deal with them?
- What does good Executive-Board reporting look like?
The speaker line-up for this event is:
- Kathryn O'Donoghue, Chairperson, National Disability Authority
- Dr Tom Ward, Director & Senior Governance Specialist, IPA
- Aidan Horan, Senior Associate, IPA
Note: Board review data and insights are based on anonymised data from a multitude of board and governing body reviews.
