Our next Board Secretaries’ Network event (in association with the ICSA – The Chartered Governance Institute) takes place on the morning of Thursday, 17 September 2020 at 11.00 – 12.00. The primary focus of the Network session will be on supporting Boards and Committees during the Covid-19 pandemic, which members will appreciate has posed significant challenges. Board Secretaries have been at the forefront in ensuring that Boards and Committees can meet and execute their functions during these uncertain times. The event will provide an opportunity for Secretaries to meet (virtually) and to discuss and share experiences and good practices.
Two highly experienced guest speakers will provide inputs. They are:
Nora Geary, Corporate Secretary and Secretary to the Governing Body at University College Cork
John O’Donovan, Head of ICT, National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA)
The event will provide a forum for discussion of matters such as:
Running effective virtual meetings
Supporting clear decision making and delegations
Supporting Board and Committee members from a distance
Safeguarding IT/Data security, including meetings and papers
Covid risk assessments
Business continuity and its implications for Boards, Committees and governance compliance
Attendees are encouraged to submit any additional areas or themes for discussion on the day.
