Key Legislation Training | In Person

This special half-day training event for members will explore three key areas of legislation for board members, senior executives and staff of public bodies and non-profit organisations. It will help to demystify the legislation and support members in ensuring compliance by their organisations with obligations and good practices.
The three areas to be covered are:
- Freedom of Information
- Data Protection
- Protected Disclosures Acts 2014 & 2022
The training will cover the key features of the legislation in the various areas, the obligations they impose on organisations, and the processes which should be in place, alongside the types of issues which can arise.
The training will be delivered in-person at the IPA by three subject matter experts:
- David Murphy, Deputy Commissioner, Public Sector Supervision, Data Protection Commission
- Maebh O'Connor, IPA Specialist (on FOI)
- Sharon Dillon-Lyons BL, Barrister and IPA Associate Specialist (on Protected Disclosures)
