Privacy Policy

1. What we need

The IPA’s Personal Data Protection Policy governs the use and storage of your personal data. If you would like a copy of this policy please contact the Data Protection Officer by emailing dpo@ipa.ie

The IPA is a Data Controller of the personal data which you, the data subject provide us. We are also the Data Controller of your personal data when your organisation takes out a corporate membership of the Forum and nominates you as a representative.

We collect the following types of personal data:

• Name
• Title
• Telephone Number
• Email Address

2. Why we need it

We need your personal data in order to:

• Communicate with you in relation to the Forum’s activities

3. What we do with it

Your personal data is processed in the Institute of Public Administration located in the Republic of Ireland. Hosting and storage of your data takes place in the Republic of Ireland.

No third parties have access to your data, unless specifically required by law.

4. How long we keep it

Under European and Irish legislation we are required to keep your personal data in accordance with our Data Retention Policy.

Specifically, when your organisation notifies us that you are no longer to be one of its representatives your personal data will be deleted. This deletion will take place within one month of such notification.

5. What are your rights?

If you believe that any personal data we hold on you is incorrect or incomplete, you have the right to request to see this information, rectify it or have it deleted. Please contact us through governance@ipa.ie.

In the event that you wish to complain about how we have handled your personal data, please contact the Data Protection Officer by email to dpo@ipa.ie or in writing to

Our DPO will then examine your complaint and work with you to resolve the matter.

If you still feel that your personal data has not been handled appropriately and in accordance with relevant legislation, you can contact the Data Protection Commission and file a complaint.
